Three Forks Cem sits near the confluence of the Little Snake River and its middle fork, serving as a quiet focal point in this high-altitude landscape within the Routt National Forest. The terrain is defined by a complex network of drainage basins and prominent peaks, including Three Forks Mtn and Shield Mtn, which overlook the winding paths of Johnson Cr and Burton Cr. In the southern reaches, the land rises toward Nipple Peak and City Mtn near South Fork Park. This 2019 survey documents a region largely shaped by the Little Snake River system, showing the rugged topography of Deadhorse Ridge and Piney Mtn. The map preserves the alignment of CO Rte 129 as it follows the river valley, providing essential context for the remote ranching and forest lands of northern Routt County.
