Ship Mtn Point and Smoky Mtn dominate this high desert landscape in southern Utah, where massive plateaus are dissected by complex drainages. The area is defined by its series of distinct benches, including Caine Bench, Fourmile Bench, and John Henry Bench, which provide clear views of the geological layering of the region. Drainage patterns are carved by Last Chance Cr and the southern N Br Cr, alongside numerous deep canyons such as Stony Point Canyon and Whities Canyon.
