Anacortes Crossing and the surrounding high-altitude terrain define this 2011 survey of the Cascades. The landscape is marked by a complex network of drainage basins and ridges, including Jackita Ridge and the dramatic Hells Basin. A high concentration of mountain passes, such as Deception Pass, Sky Pilot Pass, Devils Pass, and Rock Pass, indicates the critical, albeit difficult, routes through the peaks of Shull Mountain and Center Mountain.
