Sixmile Hill dominates the southwestern portion of this high-desert landscape in Elko County, where steep drainages and intermittent water sources define the terrain. The presence of Rocky Canyon Spring and the drainage of Tosa Wihi Hunu'u in the northern sections suggest a reliance on seasonal hydrology in this part of the Great Basin. This recent survey reflects the modern management of public lands, showing the gridded boundaries of the Public Land Survey System including sections of t37n r45e and t38n r46e. While the area lacks dense human settlement, the network of 4WD trails and local roads crossing near Sixmile Creek indicates the ongoing use of this territory for ranching, recreation, or resource management.
