The small settlement of Sixteen sits at the northern edge of this high-country landscape, where the Meagher Co Gallatin Co line divides the drainage basins. This 2020 survey highlights a complex network of waterways, primarily defined by the winding course of Sixteenmile Cr and its numerous tributaries. Prominent among these are Rye-Grass Cr, Indian Cr, and Hayfield Cr, which cut through the steep topography surrounding Elkhorn Ridge.
