Grand Flat and Cedar Mesa dominate this high-desert plateau in San Juan County, where the landscape is deeply etched by a network of drainage systems. The northern portion of the map is defined by the winding course of Owl Creek, which flows through a complex series of canyons before meeting the sharp topographical drop-offs of the mesa. To the east, the terrain descends into Fish Creek, while the southern reaches are marked by the dramatic descent into Road Canyon.
