Unaweep Canyon serves as the dramatic centerpiece of this high-plateau survey, cutting a deep path between the Grand Mesa National Forest to the north and the Uncompahgre National Forest to the south. This unique geological area features the Unaweep Divide, a rare drainage divide where water flows in opposite directions—West Creek heading westward and East Creek flowing toward the east.
