Padre Island National Seashore preserves a dynamic coastal landscape along the Texas coast, where the shifting sands of Padre Island meet the expansive Gulf of America. This 2025 survey illustrates a largely undeveloped barrier island environment, dominated by prominent sand dunes and elevations such as Green Hill, Dagger Hill, and Big Ball Hill. The terrain transition is marked by the Kleberg Co and Kenedy Co boundary line, which crosses the coastal flats south of Boggy Slough.
