Skyline Drive traverses the high ridge of the Wasatch Plateau, following the spine of the Manti-La Sal National Forest during this 2001 revision. The landscape is defined by its complex water management and topographic extremes, from the high summits of South Tent Mountain and North Tent Mountain to the depths of Potters Canyon. Traces of early engineering and agricultural efforts are visible in the network of irrigation and water transport features, such as the Potters Canyon Ditch, the Cedar Creek Tunnel, and the Mountain Tunnel.

Evidence of historical grazing and land use is found at Soren Peterson Meadow, while the eastern side of the quadrangle shows the transition toward the drainage of Upper Joes Valley. The presence of a Gaging Station and the recreation-oriented Potters Ponds reflects the area's dual role as a critical watershed and a public forest resource. The boundary between Sanpete and Emery counties cuts through these high basins, marking a divide between the different drainage systems of the plateau.
