Coeur D'Alene National Forest encompasses this high-elevation Idaho landscape, defined by a series of prominent peaks and intricate drainage systems. Spades Mtn and Huckleberry Mountain anchor the central and southern terrain, while the northern reaches are dominated by South Chilco Mtn and Buckles Mtn. The hydrology is dictated by the Little North Fork Coeur d'Alene River and its numerous tributaries, including Canyon Fork and Nicholas Creek, which carve deep through the mountainous relief.
