1961 Map of Spirit Lake West

USGS Topo · Published 1980

About this map

Spirit Lake and Twin Lakes dominate this rugged Idaho landscape, where the Bonner and Kootenai county lines meet. The 1961 survey records a seasonal recreational economy defined by numerous small landings such as Silver Beach, Silver Sands Beach, Echo Beach, and Excelsior Beach. Much of the terrain is held within the Coeur d'Alene National Forest and Kaniksu National Forest, with Larch Mtn and Pitz Mtn rising above the drainage basins of Breakfast Creek and Brickel Creek.
