Dinosaur National Monument encompasses the heart of this landscape, where the Green River carves a dramatic path through the geologic uplift of Split Mtn. The river’s descent is marked by a series of white-water challenges including Moonshine Rapids, Schoolboy Rapids, and Inglesby Rapids, as it snakes through Split Mountain Canyon. Historical habitation is evidenced by the presence of the Josie Morris Cabin, located near the southern reaches of the monument boundary.
