About this map

The Comanche Co and Brown Co border bisects this central Texas landscape, where the Hog Mountains rise above a complex network of waterways. In the mid-1960s, the rural character of this region was defined by the Stag Creek Community Center and the various drainage basins of Stag Creek, Patridge Creek, and Rabbit Creek. The topography is dominated by Star Mountain and several smaller ridges, interspersed with a handful of Gas Wells and an industrial Pipeline cutting through the terrain. Evidence of early settlement is seen at the small Cem and a Gravel Pit, while the numerous named creeks like Little Jimmys Creek and South Copperas Creek indicate the critical role of water management and local geography in the Texas Water Development Board's surveying efforts.
