Storm King Peak dominates a high-elevation alpine landscape at the meeting point of the San Juan National Forest and Rio Grande National Forest. This 2019 survey documents the complex topography of the Grenadier Range and the series of numbered summits from Needle Mountains Peak One through Needle Mountains Peak Ten. The presence of Beartown in the northeast corner of the sheet provides a rare point of named human settlement in an area otherwise defined by glacially carved features and high passes.
