Sawtooth National Forest encompasses the northern half of this Idaho landscape, dominated by the peaks and drainages of the Sublett Range. The topography is defined by narrow canyons and reliable water sources, including Sublett Reservoir and its namesake Sublett Cr, which transitions into Lake Fork as it flows toward the forest boundary. Natural springs such as Pine Grove Spring and South Fork Fall Creek Spring are vital markers in this high-elevation environment, where water flow determines the placement of roads and access points.
