The Continental Divide traverses the heart of the central Brooks Range in this mid-century survey, separating the Arctic drainage of the Killik River and Nigu River from the southern-flowing waters of the Kobuk River and Alatna River. This high-altitude wilderness is defined by the massive granite spires of the Arrigetch Peaks and the towering height of Mount Igikpak.
