Maggie Creek Rd serves as the primary north-south artery through this portion of Elko County, tracking the drainage of Maggie Cr through a landscape defined by an extensive network of ephemeral and perennial streams. The drainage pattern is complex, with several tributaries such as Jack Cr, Little Jack Cr, and Coyote Cr converging in the central and southern portions of the quadrangle. In the northwestern corner, Chicken Springs provides a rare named water source outside the primary creek beds. The map also delineates the high-desert border between Eureka Co and Elko Co, where the transition from Lynn Cr and Simon Cr in the southwest toward the more dominant Maggie Creek system illustrates the hydrological divide of the region.
