The confluence of the Lochsa River and Selway River marks the central focus of this Idaho landscape, where they merge to form the Middle Fork Clearwater River. At the heart of this riverine junction is Syringa, a small settlement positioned along the northern bank of the Clearwater. The terrain is defined by the steep elevation changes between the river valley and prominent peaks such as Walde Mtn and Higgins Hump.
