Tabor Flats defines the high desert landscape of this northeastern Nevada region, where water sources dictate the placement of local infrastructure and small settlements. The drainage of Tabor Creek winds through the center of the sheet, eventually meeting the Humboldt River in the southern portion of the map. Near this confluence, the small settlement of Starr appears alongside other waterways including Bishop Creek and Trout Creek. This 2012 survey illustrates the modern configuration of rural access, notably Co Rd 753, which cuts diagonally across the basin. The presence of the Rabbit Creek Reservoir to the east highlights the ongoing importance of water management in this arid ranching and grazing territory.
