Teasleys Mill and the southern reaches of the Pike Road community anchor this portion of Montgomery County, where the landscape is defined by a dense network of creek drainages and small impoundments. The terrain rises to Shepherd Hill near the center of the sheet, surrounded by several smaller named settlements including Carters Hill, Mamie, and Canty. This area's rural heritage is evident in the preservation of family and community landmarks, particularly the many cemeteries that dot the countryside such as Barnett Cem, Panhandle Cem, and Orange Cem.

Water is a constant presence across these townships, with Little Catoma Cr and Little Sandy Cr carving through the clay-rich soil. Dozens of private lakes, such as Kirksey Lake, Allison Lake, and the larger Lake Pugh, reflect the area's transition into a landscape of managed water resources and residential pockets. The road network, including Hayneville Ridge Rd and Troy Loop, connects these dispersed homesites to the developing outskirts of the state capital region.
