The Three Peaks rise sharply above the west side of Cedar Valley, forming a distinct topographic landmark in this section of Iron County. The landscape is defined by the transition from the flat valley floor, where a modern grid of roads like W Midvalley Rd and N 4300 W serves a growing residential area, to the complex uplift of The Bald Hills and the winding Hole-in-the-Wall pass. Historical industrial activity is evidenced by the presence of The Mines located just east of the peaks. To the southwest, the settlement of Iron Springs sits along Iron Springs Creek, illustrating the area's reliance on water sources in the high desert. This 2023 survey documents the intersection of rural residential expansion and the historical mining and ranching geography that has long characterized this region.
