Thistle sits at the junction of Us-89 and Us-6 in Spanish Fork Canyon, a point where the terrain transitions into the high ridges of the Manti-Lasal National Forest and the Uinta National Forest. This 2014 survey captures a landscape defined by its narrow canyons and numerous named hollows, such as Chicken Hollow, Rough Hollow, and Spring Hollow. The map detail traces the winding course of Soldier Cr as it passes through The Red Narrows and meets the canyon floor near Rio.
