Tijuana John Peak and the surrounding high country of the Granite Range define this high-altitude landscape in northeastern Nevada. Recorded during a mid-1980s field check, the area shows significant evidence of mineral exploration, with numerous Prospects, a Mine, and a Mine Shaft located in the western foothills. The hydrological system is characterized by seasonal drainages such as Cow Creek, Willow Creek, and Trout Creek, which carve through the arid terrain. The map's detail provides a record of the rudimentary road network of the era, consisting primarily of 4WD tracks and unimproved trails used to access remote survey points and mining claims within Elko County.
