Indian Peak and the high ridges of the Seaman Range dominate this desert landscape along the border of Nye and Lincoln counties. The terrain is defined by dramatic elevation changes, centered on the crossing at Timber Mountain Pass and the steep elevation of Timber Mtn to the south. In the northeast, the White River cuts through the basin, providing a contrast to the surrounding highlands like Black Cliff. This 2014 survey documents the remote transition between the mountains and the river valley, where Timber Pass Rd serves as the primary corridor through the challenging topography of the Great Basin.
