Tippett sits at the northern edge of this high-altitude landscape, where the flat expanse of Antelope Valley meets the rising slopes of the Kern Mountains to the south. This 2014 survey documents a characteristic Great Basin environment defined by ephemeral water sources and remote transport routes. The drainage patterns of the Antelope Valley Wash and Chin Cr dominate the central basin, leading toward the seasonal waters of Tippett Lake.
