The Judith River carves a deep path through Fergus County, creating a landscape defined by elevated plateaus and erosional coulees. Central to this geography is Toney Bench, a prominent flat-topped rise bounded by Ming Coulee and Hamilton Coulee to the north. These "benches" are characteristic of the region's agricultural and grazing lands, providing level surfaces above the more complex drainage systems of the river valley. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the Deerfield Colony stands as a primary settlement, situated near the intersection of Deerfield Rd and N Danvers Rd.
