Tower sits at the northern edge of this landscape, centered around the impounded waters of Tower Pond and the winding Black River. The settlement is served by a network of rural routes such as Kisser Rd and Old M-33 Rd, while Forest Lawn Cem provides a point of genealogical interest just east of the village. The surrounding Cheboygan County terrain is defined by a dense system of creeks and small lakes, including McLavey Lake, Dorsey Lake, and the aptly named Grass Lake.
