1963 Map of Tres Piedras

USGS Topo · Published 1967

About this map

Tres Piedras sits at a critical junction of high-desert terrain and the wooded slopes of the Carson National Forest in the early 1960s. This survey records a landscape shaped by transportation and resource extraction, most notably the Old Railroad Grade which snakes south through the center of the quadrangle toward the settlement. To the north, the distinctive No Agua Peaks and Cerro Del Aire dominate the horizon, overlooking a network of volcanic features and deep canyons including Barela Canyon and Martinez Canyon.
