The high plains along the boundary of Deaf Smith Co and Parmer Co are defined by a grid of agricultural section roads and subtle drainage basins. Twin Lakes sits in the southeastern portion of the quadrangle, a significant hydrologic feature in a landscape largely organized by rectilinear land divisions. To the north, the headwaters of Tierra Blanca Cr cross the county line, while the southern reaches are marked by the broad path of Frio Draw.
