Fish Town and Rexville sit near the branching distributaries of the North Fork Skagit River as it meets the tidal flats of Skagit Bay. This landscape is defined by the complex hydrography of the Skagit River delta, where Fir Island is carved out by a network of sloughs including Hall Slough, Browns Slough, and Dry Slough. The intricate relationship between land and water is visible in the diked fields and low-lying topography of Dodge Valley, situated just south of the elevation at Pleasant Ridge.
