Tazlina Glacier and the Columbia Glacier dominate this high-altitude landscape within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, captured during the mid-century surveying era. The topography is defined by massive ice fields and the peaks that emerge from them, including Mount Haley, Audubon Mountain, and the curiously named Brontosaurus Mountain.

Glacial movement is indicated by numerous crevasses mapped across the Science Glacier and the Nelchina Glacier. The drainage patterns are almost entirely ice-driven, with the Divider Mountain serving as a prominent landmark between the East Branch Columbia Glacier and its primary flows. This 1960 record, updated with minor revisions in the early 1980s, captures a wilderness area devoid of roads or trails, where the land lines remain unsurveyed and the terrain is dictated by the slow advance and retreat of the ice.
