Van Horn serves as a critical Trans-Pecos crossroads, situated where high-desert drainage systems and mountain ranges converge. The landscape is defined by the Beach Mountains to the northwest and the Wylie Mountains to the southeast, creating a natural corridor for transportation. This 2019 survey documents the modern street grid of the town, including the historic path of the Old Bankhead Hwy and the development around the Culberson County Airport.
