The northern settlement of Walker occupies the shoreline where Walker Bay meets the main body of Leech Lake, serving as a central hub for this portion of the Chippewa National Forest. The 2011 landscape is defined by its intricate shoreline and smaller interior water bodies like Portage Lake and Lake May. Cultural and civic points of interest include the Walker Post Office and the distinct community of Ah-gwah-ching to the south, which features its own Ah-gwah-ching Post Office.
