Wapakoneta serves as the focal point of this Auglaize County survey, situated at a major regional transit junction where modern infrastructure meets the winding path of the Auglaize River. The town’s civic heart is anchored by the Auglaize County Courthouse, while the surrounding landscape is defined by a dense network of watercourses including Pusheta Creek, Eagle Creek, and Twomile Creek. This area shows a deep historical layer through its numerous small burial grounds and parish sites, such as the Saint Joseph Pioneer Cem and Old Saint Johns Cem, which reflect the early German Catholic and pioneer settlement patterns of western Ohio. To the southeast, the small community of Fryburg sits near the intersection of several township roads, surrounded by agricultural tracts that still follow the original Section, Township, and Range lines of the Public Land Survey System.
