The Saluda River and Reedy River converge in this corner of the Piedmont, where industrial infrastructure and rural community life define the landscape. Near the settlement of Ware Shoals, a complex network including a Powerplant, Filtration Plant, and Water Tank supports the local economy along the riverbanks. The interior of the quadrangle is marked by numerous crossroads communities and rural congregations, such as Mt Bethel Ch, Sharon Ch, and Kings Chapel.
