Eufaula Lake dominates the southern reaches of this landscape, its fingers reaching northward into the drainage basins of Mud Cr and Duchess Cr. The settlement of Duchess Landing sits at the water's edge, serving as a focal point for the rural road network that spans the northern McIntosh County countryside. Further inland, the community of Shady Grove is established along the upper reaches of Shady Grove Cr, surrounded by a series of family and community burial sites including Vandier Cem and Paradise Cem.
