Mt Shoshone and Mt Baldy dominate this high-elevation corner of the Wind River Range, where the landscape is defined by the headwaters of several critical drainage systems. The S Fork Little Wind River carves through the central terrain, fed by a network of high-altitude tributaries including Raft Cr, Lost Cr, and Marys Cr. This 2017 survey details the complex hydrography of the region, from the expansive Shoshone Lake and its accompanying Shoshone Cr to the smaller Marys Lake and the marshy grounds of Washakie Park. The only significant human footprint in this wilderness is the Washakie Park Rd, which provides access to the meadows near Washakie Cr. The map captures the area as it remains today: a largely undeveloped mountain environment managed by the U.S. Forest Service and tribal authorities.
