About this map

Garden Valley dominates the central portion of this survey, forming a broad drainage basin on the border of Nye and Lincoln counties. The landscape is defined by its intermittent water systems, with seasonal flows from Cherry Cr and Sand Cr descending toward the Garden Valley Reservoir in the southern reaches of the quadrangle. To the east, the rising terrain of the Golden Gate Range provides a sharp contrast to the valley floor, culminating in the distinct topographic break known as the Water Gap. Human imprint is minimal in this arid stretch of Nevada, centered largely on the path of Seaman Wash Rd, which navigates the flatlands between the mountain peaks and the various creek beds like Pine Cr and Cottonwood Cr.
