Westphalia is the central hub of this eastern Kansas landscape, situated near the western edge of Anderson County. The township layout is defined by a rigorous grid of section lines and rural roads, including SW 1100 Rd and SW 1000 Rd, which facilitate transport across a terrain carved by numerous seasonal and perennial waterways. To the northwest of the main town site lies Saint Teresa Cem, a significant landmark for genealogical research.
