Whirlwind Valley and the surrounding desert peaks of the Great Basin define this topographical study of Millard County. The landscape is dominated by significant elevation changes, ranging from the flat expanse of Swasey Bottom in the northwest to the prominent heights of Swasey Mtn in the southwest corner. The rugged character of the area is further emphasized by the presence of the Little Drum Mountains and the distinct volcanic prominence at Black Point.
