Snake Range topography dominates the southern half of this Nevada survey, rising sharply above the expansive drainage systems of the high desert. The landscape is defined by the significant elevation of White Cloud Point, which overlooks the complex terrain of White Cloud Canyon and the natural amphitheater of White Cloud Basin. This area illustrates a typical Great Basin drainage pattern, where ephemeral watercourses like Spring Valley Wash and Mike Springs Wash carry runoff from the peaks toward the broad alluvial flats of Spring Valley.
