Yale Crossing anchors the northwestern corner of this study, positioned within the arid expanse of the Escalante Desert. The landscape is defined by a rigid grid of rural roads, including N Beryl Hwy and E Antelope Rd, which partition the Escalante Valley into systematic sections for agricultural and industrial use. The reliance on water management in this high-desert environment is evident through the path of the Escalante Mine Canal, which winds through the southern portion of the quadrangle. Natural drainage is represented by Hogans Wash, cutting across the central plains. This 2014 survey documents the organized infrastructure of Iron County, illustrating how modern irrigation and transport networks have been laid over the traditional township and range system to support local industry and habitation.
