The agricultural landscape of Minidoka and Cassia Counties centers on the small settlement of Acequia along the Union Pacific railroad line. Recorded in the mid-1960s, this area illustrates a highly engineered irrigation network, featuring the Main Canal, Side Canal, and various main drains that transformed the high desert into productive farmland. To the south, the Snake River and Milner Lake define the border between the two counties, crossed by the Jackson Bridge near the community of Jackson. Local history and genealogy interests are anchored by the Jackson Cem and the industrial infrastructure supporting the region, including a Substation, Radio Facility, and numerous Gravel Pits that serviced the growing rural infrastructure of the Snake River Plain.
