Alpine Lake serves as a central point in this high-altitude drainage system, where the complex hydrology of the Wind River Range is clearly etched. The landscape is defined by the branching tributaries of Bull Lake Cr, including the N Fork Bull Lake Cr, S Fork Bull Lake Cr, and Middle Fork Bull Lake Cr. These waterways are fed by numerous alpine basins, most notably the Milky Lakes and Big Milky Lake at the higher elevations.
