Henderson Mill and the surrounding agricultural lands of Calhoun and Jackson Counties are the focus of this 2015 study. The landscape is defined by a dense network of watercourses, including Wilson Mill Creek, Thomas Mill Creek, and Ocheesee Creek, which historically supported the milling and timber industries in this part of the Florida Panhandle. Smaller settlements such as Alliance, Ocheesee, and Selman anchor the rural road network, while the larger community of Altha appears at the western edge near Bird Pond.
