Chugach National Forest dominates this coastal Alaskan landscape, where massive ice fields and deep tidal waters intersect. The terrain is defined by the massive Tsina Glacier and the prominent Great Nunatak, an island of rock emerging from the surrounding ice. To the south, the glacial melt feeds into Columbia Bay and Heather Bay, illustrating the dramatic transition from high mountain peaks to the sea. Several isolated water bodies, including Kadin Lake and Terentiev Lake, are positioned along the glacial margins. This map provides a detailed view of the modern shoreline and ice extent, capturing a wilderness where navigation is dictated by the massive ice flows and the deep inlets of the Chugach region.
