The massive ice fields of the Chugach National Forest dominate this terrain, where numerous glaciers descend from high ridges toward the waters of College Fiord. The glacial names reflect a collegiate theme throughout the region, including the Bryn Mawr Glacier, Vassar Glacier, and Wellesley Glacier in the northern and central sections. Further south, the Barnard Glacier and Holyoke Glacier occupy the eastern slopes, while the Coxe Glacier extends toward the southern boundary.
