Antimony sits at the northern edge of this high-elevation landscape, where the E Fork Sevier River winds through the valley floor before entering the steep confines of Black Canyon. The settlement pattern follows the fertile corridor of Johns Valley, connecting the main town site to the southern hamlet of Osiris. To the east, the terrain rises sharply into the Dixie National Forest, a region defined by high plateaus like Antimony Bench and the rugged Escalante Mountains. Water management is central to this environment, evidenced by high-country features such as Antimony Lake and the Dan Day Reservoir, which catch runoff from the surrounding peaks. Local history is anchored by the Antimony Cem and a network of primitive roads and trails, including the Poison Creek ATV Trail, which navigate the complex drainage systems of Poison Cr and Antimony Cr.
