The western edges of Ardmore and the surrounding rural landscape of Carter County are defined here by a series of water management projects and ancestral grounds. The hydrology of the region is marked by several significant structures, including the Lake Ardmore Dam, City Lake Dam, and the Noble-Sea Cattle Company Dam, which together regulate the flow of Rock Creek and Caddo Creek. This network of small lakes and reservoirs supported both municipal needs and private agricultural interests like the Noble-Sea Cattle Company.
