About this map

Dall Lake anchors the southern landscape of this remote Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region. The terrain is characterized by an intricate network of wetlands and small water bodies that define the Bethel Census Area. Surveyed with a 10-foot contour interval, the map illustrates the low-lying hydrological patterns typical of the tundra, where water and land are nearly indistinguishable in many sections. The public land survey system grid, including townships t3n r82w and t2n r81w, provides the only formal human-defined structure across this expansive natural mosaic. While modern imagery from 2011 informed this edition, the landscape remains primarily defined by its original hydrography and the significant presence of Dall Lake.
